| DNA SEQUENCING |

The DNA sequencing service at the FMI provides cycle sequencing using the Applied Biosystems BigDye Terminator Cycle Sequencing Ready Reaction Kit v.3.1. The reaction products are analyzed on an Applied Biosystems 3730 DNA Analyzer, a high-throughput capillary sequencing apparatus giving a fast and reliable service. The average reading length is about 700 base pairs. The service started up in 1996 and we are now processing about 25'000 samples per year.
