We are devoted to continuous improvements
in the IT infrastructure of the FMI in order
to provide better resources. Areas that have
been improved in the immediate past are
UNIX servers, Windows servers, databases,
programming, desktop support for Macintosh
and Windows, and networking. Our key
goal is to provide every informatics resource
that the FMI needs to perform its research.
We support the whole spectrum of image, se-
quence, expression, and structure analysis,
either in response to user requests or on a
consultative basis to help individual research-
ers enhance their specific research effort.
Two fundamental criteria for us are speed
of results and ease of analysis. If we can
provide the computational power needed for
faster analysis or enhanced data manipula-
tion, this will offer new opportunities to the
researchers at the FMI.
