| PROTEIN ANALYSIS |
 |
The protein analysis facility provides structural and quantitative details of proteins to aid in the understanding of their biological roles. This approach profits greatly from the exponential growth of sequence databases, with many fully sequenced genomes now available. New developments in mass spectrometry and separation technologies have resulted in great improvements in sensitivity and speed of analysis. We provide researchers at the FMI with state-of-the-art technology, including an LTQ Orbitrap Velos, a 4000 Q Trap and an Ultraflex II.
The main activities of the facility currently are:
Identification and quantification of proteins in complex mixtures at high sensitivity
Identification and quantification of covalent modifications (PTM)
Identification and characterization of isolated proteins of interest or fragments thereof
